The Roland SRE-555 Chorus Echo is one of the last and most advanced tape echo units Roland ever produced. Made in Japan from the early 80s, it combines analogue tape echo, BBD chorus and real spring reverb in a 4U rackmount format.
Essentially the rackmount version of the RE-501 Chorus Echo, the SRE-555 adds lower noise performance, extra playback head options, and the lush saturated repeats that made the Space Echo series legendary. Widely used for dub, ambient, post-punk and classic studio effects work.
Also comes with roller arms for easy access when stored in a rack unit! Very clean example of this unit, don’t see them often! 100v Version.
Regular price $2,999.00
This discrete circuit is an adaption of a valve topology used to squeeze extra gain from vacuum tubes. 5457 Field effect transistors are used, being the closest sold-state counterparts.
The body control shapes the output tone. Turn it all the way up for a full bodied, flat frequency response.
The Twin FET Booster runs on a split-rail power supply (-9, 0, +9) for increased headroom. There is an internal gain adjustment trimpot which can be dialed for clinical sterility, through to crunchy FET breakup.
The artwork was drawn by Melbourne artist Mr Kade. 10 Year Manufacturers Warranty - Brand New! with pouch and box.
Regular price $169.00
The ТРАНЗИСТОР (transistor) is a faithful recreation of the famous and most sought-after Russian Muff. I've kept the design true to the original, but have also added the mids control, as this has been too helpful to neglect. This creates exactly the original tone when rotated fully left. This model provides a more musical clarity and bloom in the lower frequencies.
Notes on the construction? It is all designed, powder coated, drilled, printed, soldered, and assembled at home. The powder coat is by Dulux Australia (super tough), and won't flake like the originals. Carbon film resistors are used, keeping to the classic builds. Polystyrene capacitors are used for the smoothing caps; two 1000pF in series at each state like the originals. Soviet black glass diodes are used for clipping.
10 Year Manufacturers Warranty - Brand New! with pouch and box.
Regular price $299.00
The TS10 circuit had some minor variations to the TS9 and TS808 circuits, and is sort after for its secret-sauce flavour.
The classic TS10 stock tone is achievable in STD mode, as well as two other variation modes:
STD - Classic TS symmetrical clipping, with a focus on mids.
ASYM - Asymmetrical clipping shape begins to ‘look’ more like valve amplifier clipping. This can better suit input signals which already have a full bottom-end, such as a neck pickup, and allows chord detail to better shine through.
FAT - Also asymmetrical clipping, but with a full bottom-end.
The gain control has twice the amount of gain range as a classic TS. The extended range begins at the 2 o'clock position onwards.
The chip has been upgraded to a higher performance audio amplifier by JRC (Japanese Radio Company). The 'soft clipping' is achieved using three black glass tube silicon diodes.
Handmade in Melbourne, Australia.
Brand new with 10 year warranty.
Includes box, manual and pouch.
Regular price $189.00

Vintage and RARE. Circa 1973-78 - Made in Italy by JEN/FBT.
A very rare variant in the Tonebender timeline. At first this unit appears to be the VOX V828 MkII Tonebender and indeed shares the same graphics face plate as the 2nd version V828s.
However, this particular circuit varies greatly due to its use of Silicon transistors instead of Germanium, and the introduction of a Diode clipping stage. The result a fuzz that does behave and sound like a Tonebender MKII Pro, but with more bite, more treble, a lot more available volume, and far less compression when driven hard.
The same case and circuit are found in later JEN FUZZ pedals, but it is a mystery as to whether this circuit was invented firstly to fulfil an order of VOX Tonebenders, or if it was a pre-existing JEN circuit that they later badged as VOX in order to fulfil an order (the timing of events would determine if it is a ‘legit’ Tonebender variant, or a sneaky contractural obligation fulfilment).
The JEN FUZZ can be found online featuring this exact case and circuit board but with a JEN faceplate covering the 3 x slots, and JEN Italy baseplate graphic.
All Original and very cool.
Regular price $1,500.00
Vintage 1971 - Made in U.K.
An incredibly rare version of the 1965-1968 VOX AC30/6 TB circuit; Made by the founders post exiting VOX!
Engineered by Vox founder Tom Jennings and Circuit designer Dick Denney.
After Jennings was squeezed out of Vox, he started Jennings Electronics Industries, and with Dick Denney they started producing the JV-40 which was for all intents and purposes identical to the 1965-1968 design of the Vox AC-30/6 Top Boost Models. The only differences were improved tube placement (wider spacing for heat dissapation) and the use of Organ Drawbars rather than rotary controls.
**NOT to be confused with the Solid State ‘J40’ or Rotary knob Tube version ‘AC40’ - This is the rarest variant created by JEI post VOX. No other featured drawbars and the Vacuum Tube circuit.**
